Game Results & Highlights

Great Close to the Season

Season came to a close early but before the virus had a chance to shut us down. A solid all around performance resuting in a 4-1 victory over the visiting Dinos.

Fun Group to Play

Always a competitive game, the Old Crocs were able to hold off the Horn Dogs in a hard fought, well played 3-1 victory.

Late Season Call Ups

After sufferring most of the year the Rottenshots brought up 3 young guns just as the youngest 3 Old Crocs took the night off. Still a great game that had the OC come up just short in the 4-3 loss.

First Round Knock Out

For the first time all season the Old Crocs were rolling 3 full forward lines and 5 D, and boy did they deliver. After scoring a quick 6 goals, including a Note by Tiger, it was time to turn out the lights early - literally for one player! With the shortened game being called at 6-0 Simpson also secures a Note, his team-leading 6th of the season.

And Har D Har Was Not to Blame

Not your typical game, as the Ayr OT were up 2-0 early without having a shot on net. (figure that one out) Eventually going down 3-0 the Old Crocs were able to square the match late but 2 late goals by the visitors gave the OC their first loss since January 8. But more importantly we were happy to welcome back Rockin' Robbie for his first game of the season!!

"Boom" Goes the Dynamite

In the early stages of the game the Rottenshots looked almost as good as previous years but then Boomer, with his Note, and the rest of the Old Crocs found their groove and took advantage leading to an 8-2 decisive victory.

A See Saw affair

A great on-ice battle that had the Old Crocs holding a 3-2 lead going into the late stages of the game was full of excitement in the last few minutes as 3 quick goals, including the last by the OC to secure the 4-4 tie.

Making Simpson's Life Easy

After going down 7-0 the Dinos center was heard saying to the ref "we're actually playing a good game but we're getting our ass kicked" which was an acurate statement as the Old Crocs controlled all aspects of the game enroute to the 8-0 victory and yet another Note for Simpson.

Up For the Challenge

Despite missing a few players and the Rotenshots showing up with a few borrowed players the Old Crocs were up to the challenge securing the 7-3 victory. Peach Fuzz led the way with a natural Note early, all with nice set up passes from Tiger. It appears that Tiger's new skill as penalty shots are not, after going 0 for 3 this week.

WTF Just Happened?

Well that was 'fugly'. In a game that should have been a blowout with Simpson securing another Note turned into a nail biter right down to the final buzzer. Early dominance by the OC resulted in a lead but 2 missed penalty shots by Tiger and 2 failed penalty shots by Simpson and the game was tighter than needed but the OC were able to get the 5-4 victory.

Don't Let the "Chase-On" Catch On!

One of the more dominating performances by the Old Crocs against a formidable opponent. The OC dominated the play, and if not the for the muliple "Chase-Ons" the score would have been much higher than the 4-0 result. Another great outing by Simpson to earn the Note for the shutout.

Memory's a Little Weak

I assume the OC had a strong game, especially Figjam. He was due. I'll assume they won as well. Way to go lads.

Late Success in Injury Time

After an exciting 50 minutes of back and forth hockey it was looking like it would finish in a 4-4 draw until Bob Barker's stick woke up. First it took down an opposing player seting up the final play ofthe game with a penalty shot. Fortunately Simpson came thru with the big save but the roar of the crowd did not wake the zamboi driver so the game continued. A couple ticks of the clock later and Barker did his best McDavid impersonation and found the back of the net erupting the crowd once again and waking the driver who sounded the bell to end the game with a 5-4 OC victory.

New Year's Resolutions Paying Off

With over a week off, and our newest D-man, Radar, making another appearance, the Old Crocs played a complete game at both ends of the ice in securing a 5-2 victory. Even Har D Har got on the score sheet.

A Little 'Rusty' in the Back2Back

After looking a little sluggish in the first game after the break, the Old Crocs had a tougher time in the 90 min 2nd night of back to back games vs the Rusty Anchors. Despite not really being in the game, the OC still managed to find the net 4 times including a highlight reel goal by Bob Barker, but still a few less than the opposition in the 9-4 loss.

Battle of the Bulge

With the Old Crocs looking and skating like they had too many second and third helpings over the Christmas break, the Beverly squad was able to keep pace and make a game of it. Eventually the OC were able to get a few late ones and finish ahead 5-3.

Christmas Miracle

As one of our strongest competeitors, the Hespeler OT were extrememly shorthanded for their home ice game vs the Old Crocs and only iced 8 players, without their usual fire power. The OC had prepared themselves for the usual game and therefore were much stronger in an impressive 8-3 victory with Wardo and Copper picking up Notes. Both hoping for the Christmas Miracle once they got home.

Late Collapse

The Dinos showed up a body short so Tiger put on their jersey and helped them roar back from a 4-1 deficit to tie the game late. Fortunately Simpson stopped him on a last second breakaway or the game would have ended up in the loss column.

Time for a Rebuild

For the past few years the Rottenshots have been our closest rival but 2019 was not kind to their roster and they've lost much of their competitive edge. Even with Simpson allowing one of two penalty shots to get past him the OC easily skated to a 7-2 victory.

Distinct Change of Pace

After a hard game with Huron the night before, the Legion competition was at a different pace and caught the OC off guard. In fact if it wasn't for another Simpson PS save, and a late comeback by the OC, we may have had our first losing streak of the year, but still only managed a 3-3 tie.

Need to Listen to Scouting

With scouting saying we needed to show up with 3 strong lines for a 90 min game vs Huron, the lines of communication were broken and the Old Crocs arrived with just 9 skaters. With Simposon standing on his head, including stopping 2 of 3 penalty shots, and Boomer putting up a Note, the Huron eventually outlasted the OC in a 9-7 victory.

PS Success

The first ever tilt between the OC and the Rusty Anchors from Woodstock was an entertaining game that all appeared to enjoy. The 4-2 Croc victory featured Figjam scoring the first successful penalty shot of the season by any OC player.

One for the Thumb

The usual Legion vs Old Croc game this time had Load Management (formerly The Professor) racking up a point on all 5 goals for the evening including collecting a Note for himself in the 5-1 victory.

A Clean Sheet Again

A lopsided affair that had the Old Crocs playing where they needed to be as Simpson earned a Note shutting out Beverly OT for the 3rd straight time in the 5-0 victory.

Solid Efort

In the first game featuring both of Tiger's teams, he choose wisely and played for the Old Crocs. A solid game by all featuring 2 penalty shot stops by Simposn in the 7-2 victory.

Barely Old Timers

Hespeler skated into the Old Crocs barn and quickly blew past them at every opportunity. The young squad caught the OC flat footed in the first half and they quickly got out to an early lead. As much as the OC adjusted, and won the second half of the game, they still came up short losing 5-3.

How the Mighty Have Fallen

In complete opposite of Ayr OT, the Rottenshots have gone from our best game of the year team to Legion-level competition. The Old Crocs totally controlled the play with speed and passing, and left Simpson on his own for the majority of the game. The result was never in doubt, except if Notes woud be handed out. In the end the OC had multiple scorers and Simspon let in a softy in the 7-1 victory with no Notes being awarded.

Still Drafting Well

Once on the chopping block for teams we play, the Ayr OT have stepped up over the last 2 seasons and brought in a few young guns. Makes for a better and exciting game - especially when the Old Crocs can still pull off the win. Solid game all around as the OC won 5-2.

You and Who's Army

After dealing the Old Crocs their first loss of the year the OC were looking for a little revenge. So in comes the heavy artillery, which started with a Note for Army on a highlight penalty shot, followed by Tiger's 5 goal performance, earning him his second Note of the year. Even the 3rd member of the line, Peach Fuzz, got into the act with a lone goal in the 10-2 victory

8 Is Enough

As usual Huron showed up with quality and not quantity. With 8 players skating hard and moving the puck quickly, the OC were in no position to stop the scoring, or Donna's tears, as they fell 7-3.

One for the Highlight Reel

The game featured the usual strong OC play and little resistance from the Legion but the rarest of rare moments did happen this night. It wasn't that Copper was finally able to cash a Note (even with 4 goals) but Simpson grabbing a loose puck in the corner, turning and burying it into his own net from an impressive tight angle. It was noted that his face matched the red of our jerseys but fortunately he picked up the win in the 10-3 decision.

Well That Was a 'Treat'

The OC started fast and strong and continued that way for the entire game as they took advantage of the Rottenshots being in a rebuilding year enroute to a 7-3 victory.

Old Time Hockey

The Gore were more of a force in their own building and the game with a spirited affair with the OC coming up a little short, much like Mighty Mouse's penalty shot effort, as they lost 3-2.

Its a 'Match' for Boomer

After starting out with the Old Crocs 'playing the competition' level quickly changed when Boomer found the Note that his GF was looking for and propelled the OC to a 6-2 victory.

A Fiesty Affair

It would appear last year's late young recruits are back with Ayr OT and played a spirited game. Of course Barker and Wardo will have none of that and Tiger found his scoring stick for his first Note of the year in the 5-1 victory.

Simpson Ties Hardy Har Har in Scoring

With a record 8 Old Crocs out of the line up, reinforcements were called in, including a tender so that Simpson could play out a collect his D-Note in the 7-1 victory.

WTF? We Lost?!

As usual the Horn Dogs and Old Crocs is a competitive fair and this one turned into a goaltender battle as well. Its possible the OC were the better team on the ice but came up a little short where it counts in the 2-1 loss. Okay it was 3-1 after Figjam coughed up the puck for the empty netter.

First Shutout of the Season

What started out looking like it was going to be a blow out had the Old Crocs lower their game to match the competition. Fortunately Load Management (formerly the Professor) kept his scoring touch and combined with Simpson's success in net, the two collected their Notes enroute to a 4-0 victory.

Har D Har Moves Up in Scoring Race

The OC controlled the play and pressure all game long in a strong 7-3 victory which saw Har D Har move into the top 4 in team scoring. Figjam secured the team's first Note of the year despite missing a penalty shot and having a scoring percentage of less than 20%.

No Aspirin Needed in Victory

With this being the first ice a majority of the Old Crocs had seen since March, they still played with 'heart' and 'attacked' the Bad Habits. Despite the close score of 5-4 the OC controlled the play and kept the Habits to very few shots. Probably less than 10. Maybe less than 5.
